About Captain Woodie

Captain Woodie
Woodie Woodlog is me name. I was born many moons ago along the banks of some forgotten river bend on the lower reaches of the Nisqually.  As a youth, I bumped around Puget Sound between ports here and there–soaking up the salt of the sea and all it had to offer.  Found on the beach as a wayward drifter, George Kenney of George Kenny’s School of Chainsaw Carving in Allyn Washington sculpted and encouraged my unique character before sending me off to sea again.  That’s when things got really interesting for me.   People started noticing me charm’n ways.  It wasn’t long before I began working as a cabin door stop, tourist guide (me thinks?), bird post and pub philosopher.  I worked me way up and down the ladder on all kinds of ships.  Now in my older years, Im a travel’s round the Salish Sea spreading me good will to all who will have it.

Me likes fine grub, good spirits, mischief and flirty companionship.  There ain’t much else to know about me except that me days are numbered due to me damn infliction.   That’s why I started this blog thing to share what me been selfishly keep’n secret all these years–The amaz’n glory of the Salish Sea!

Doctors Note:( Captain Woodie suffers from an acute form of Termiticulitus (termites).  It is a debilitating disease that is not so uncommon among older wood fellows.  Captain Woodie has a strong desire to travel the Salish Sea one more time before it’s too late. )
